Vizcaya Park Update: May 11, 2012

The recent newsletter from the City of Miramar announced the grand opening of Vizcaya Park. Check it out!
The City of Miramar is pleased to announce that Vizcaya Park is near completion and getting ready to open. The complex is located at 14200 SW 55th St. This beautiful park and community center is opening its doors on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Come join us at 10:00 a.m. and be a part of the ribbon cutting ceremony as we unveil this brand new facility.

The park includes 2 full size outdoor basketball courts, a soccer/football field, open green space, a covered playground area, 2 picnic pavilions with tables and bar-b-cue grills. The picnic area is available for party rentals. In addition to these outdoor amenities, the Vizcaya Park Community Center is a LEED certified "green" building with a computer lab, game room and multipurpose room. The facility will offer a variety of classes and programs to include after school, summer camps, educational programs and recreational classes such as dance, karate, drama and chess. These rooms will also be available for residents to rent for birthday parties, baby showers or other family fun activities.

Opening day activities will include class demonstrations in the Multi-Purpose Room by Errol Lyn Karate, Curtain Call Playhouse and the Chess Club. In addition, there will be 3 on 3 basketball games, kickball games and much more. While you enjoy the day's festivities, be sure to register for one or more of the many classes and programs being started at the park. As this park opens just in time for summer fun, please be sure to register for the summer sports camp program that will be taking place from June 11th - August 17th. Registration has already begun! For more camp information, please call (954) 602-3167.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us as this grand opening promises to be a fun filled day for the entire family.
